About.
Sonder: the realization that each random passerby is living a life as vivid and complex as your own—populated with their own ambitions, friends, routines, worries and passions—an epic story that continues invisibly around you.

Morii: the desire to capture a fleeting experience. A bit like envisioning your life and wanting to press 'pause' to stop and feel peace and comfort in a world that is stuck on 'play'.

The Sonorii Project was created out of my fascination with the human experience and my desire to meaningfully connect with other people, learn from them, and document a piece of their intricate lives. After scouring the internet to find the perfect word to represent this project, I felt that each word kept coming up a little bit short. That's when I came across the words "sonder" and "morii" in the Dictionary of Obscure Sorrows, by combining these two words into "sonorii" I found just what I was looking for. Here is how I define sonorii:

Sonorii: The state of admiration, humbleness and/or awe that one feels after glimpsing into the complex life of a stranger. This "glimpse" ultimately created by the preservation of one's unique memories, advice, struggles and hopes through the art of photojournalism.

Sonorii Studios was born from my excitement (perhaps even ambitiousness) of the endless creative work that The Sonorii Project could lead to and inspire. So, despite not having any photography or journalism experience I am eager to carry out this vision and ride the learning curve of life in order to create something meaningful to share with you!
